The CANIDAE Racing Team is ready to take on the Best in the Desert Bilek Racing Silver State "300" in Nevada, having re-built their 800 HP 454 CI Dougan powered Trophy Truck after last month's Mint 400 race.

The CANIDAE Racing Team was near the front of the pack for the Mint 400 race near Las Vegas in March. Unofficial reports showed the CANIDAE team in 5th place at the end of lap one of this grueling four lap race. However, the team suffered a setback during lap two when driver Scott Whipple and co-driver Johnny Stroschein pushed the truck a little too hard and got bit on the famous qualifying jump and rolled the truck several times. Although attempts were made to repair the truck, getting it back on the course unfortunately wasn’t possible.

Now ready to take on the famous BitD Silver State "300", Team CANIDAE is prepared to battle with hundreds of competitors in their attempt to reach the podium. The race is comprised of one 300 mile loop and has some of the most scenic country racers may ever see all in the great high desert of Eastern Nevada.

The course will have a mixture of high-desert mountains, sand-washes, and panoramic views that will make racers want to stop their race vehicle and just take it all in. Teams will race through the Pahroc Summit area where they will see unbelievable rock formations, the Dalamar Valley, where the ghost town of Dalamar was located and where gold was discovered in 1890, the Cathedral Gorge area and much more.

Race headquarters will be in the exciting city of Las Vegas, at the Aliante Station Hotel & Casino, close to US-95 and I-15.  Registration, Tech Inspection and Contingency will be held on Friday, April 29, and the race will take place on Saturday, April 30.  The start line is in Alamo and the finish line will be south of the Alamo area.

Race fans can visit www.canidaeracing.com to follow the CANIDAE Trophy Truck Team's progress before, during and after the race with live reports and photos coming in from the field. Fans can also follow the team's progress in real-time by visiting www.ionearth.com. Last year at the Mint was the team’s best performance of the season with a Trick Truck 7th place finish. The team is looking forward to trying to better last year’s awesome finish.

Through the efforts of the seasoned CANIDAE crew, the team's 800 HP 454 CI Dougan powered Trophy Truck is in "mint" condition, ready to take on this historic event. Coming off a hard-fought finish in the Parker 425 Best in the Desert race in Arizona last month, this team is eager to surpass last year's excellent performance.

Thursday night, March 24th will officially kick off the Mint 400 with a huge FanFest party on Freemont Street in Las Vegas starting at 6:00PM. The CANIDAE race truck will be on display with team drivers Scott Whipple and Scott Gailey signing autographs along with other drivers. The FanFest party is free, so all race fans are invited to come down and hang out with the CANIDAE Team. Tech Inspection and Contingency takes place Friday on Freemont Street, the day before the race.

Saturday morning at 7:00AM is when all teams get down to business. As the trucks and cars take the green flag for the first of four laps for the 2011 Mint 400, hundreds of thousands of race fans will watch the race from several designated “spectator areas” around the roughly 100 mile loop. These areas are free of charge and will offer a great vantage point to watch these amazing vehicles traverse the rough Nevada desert at incredible speeds. Come and witness this spectacle for yourself.

Next up for Team CANIDAE is the famous Best in the Desert Bilek Racing Silver State "300" this April 29th through May 1st.

CANIDAE Racing would not be able to compete at this level if not for the support of their sponsors including CANIDAE Pet Foods, Lucas Oil, BFGoodrich Tires, Magnaflow, KC HiLites, Torco Race Fuels, Tap It Brewing Co., JE Pistons, Fox Race Shox, Geiser Bros., K&N Air Filters, Racepak Data Systems, CalTex Freight, McKenzies, Specialty Fasteners, XRP Hoses and Fittings, Norco Tires, and RSP Shock Prep.

CANIDAE Racing Trophy Truck Heads to Parker, Arizona for First 2011 Desert Race

CANIDAE Racing will begin the 2011 Best in the Desert racing series at the season kick off, the famed Parker 425.
